Patients and families who are affected by Chiari malformation (CM), syringomyelia (SM) and related disorders tend to have heartbreaking stories about the numerous years they spend bouncing from specialist to specialist in search of a correct diagnosis. In fact, CM patients can may have to wait an average of 6 years to be delivered the correct diagnosis! That can make for a long, painful journey to diagnosis.
This year for #GivingTuesday, CSF plans to #getoutthegive and spread awareness. Throughout the month of December, we'll be sending out daily updates about all the progress CSF has made since its creation in October 2007.
But we don't want us to be the only ones spreading awareness! Send us your stories, blog posts, and creative projects to help others learn about these disorders and maybe inspire them to give to the cause of advancing research and education for Chiari, syringomyelia and related disorders.
HOW TO GET STARTED: #GIVINGTUESDAY AND THE GIVING MONTH OF DECEMBER
Start with a little good karma! Give today to help raise funds for awareness, research and education and then share the donation page with your friends and family to encourage them to give, too!
A golf car prototype was created this year by engineering students at Georgia Tech, made possible through a grant from CSF. It was a really awesome feeling being able to see a child with real physical disabilities able to play a sport and enjoy himself in the prototype! Learn more.
