About Dr. Parrish: Dr. Rob Parrish is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon who has been practicing at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas since 1987. He is also actively engaged in training Neurosurgery Residents. Dr. Parrish attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed a General Surgery Internship at University of Colorado affiliated hospitals. He performed his Neurosurgery training with Dr. Peter Jannetta in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania. Dr. Parrish has performed thousands of neurosurgical procedures at The Methodist Hospital. His special interests are in Microvascular Decompression for Trigeminal Neuralgia and Hemi-Facial Spasm and Chiari Decompression. He also performs tumor and Arterio-Venous Malformation resection and aneurysm clipping. Spine operations are a common procedure for Dr. Parrish including artificial cervical disc replacement as well as spinal laminectomy, discectomy and spinal fusions. Dr. Parrish employs the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques and neuro-navigation tools available.
Dr. Parrish is a retired Army Colonel. He served combat tours in Iraq and the southern Philippines and has been awarded the Combat Action Badge, Flight Surgeon Wings, Legion of Merit, The Bronze Star Medal, The Joint Services Commendation Medal and others. He served as the Neurosurgeon at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for three months caring for wounded soldiers.
